Buying a Diamond with a Broker

Buying a diamond is not always fun. In fact, it can be a very frustrating experience.  Making a wise and informed decision is important, but not easy.   When purchasing a diamond, you must have honest answers to two important questions:

  1. What is the true quality (cut, color, and clarity) and value (appraised value) of the diamond being considered?

  2. Is the diamond fairly priced considering size, quality and overall beauty of the diamond?

Finding the right diamond

Finding the right diamond takes time as you visit numerous retail jewelers, wholesalers and Internet sellers.  And, then you are faced with choosing one of the many diamonds you have seen without being able to compare them side-by-side.   No wonder buying a diamond can be frustrating!

To help consumers face this challenge, we offer an important service, Diamond Brokering.   When a client hires us to act as their diamond expert, it becomes our responsibility to help them acquire the best diamond that meets their budget and quality criteria.   The advantages of hiring us as your diamond broker are three-fold:  lower cost, higher quality and time saved.

  1. Lower Cost - By acting as your broker we help you buy a diamond in the wholesale market directly from a diamond cutter or wholesaler.   Thus, your cost for the diamond will often be significantly lower than if you bought it in the retail market, at times it will be approximately 30-40% less than retail.

For example, retail cost of a 1 carat round brilliant diamond was $10,000, buying it thru a broker would cost you around $6000.00.  (Note, diamonds with lesser clarity and color grades may cost less.)

  2. Higher Quality - We assure that the diamond you buy is accurately graded and fairly described.  We only go thru sources we trust and can see value in.

  3. Time Saved - When we broker a diamond for a client we locate in the wholesale markets the 3 or 4 best diamonds that meet the client's criteria.   We evaluate each stone then, allow the client can examine each stone and select the one that he/she likes the most.   This saves you the time and frustration of "shopping around" and mentally trying to compare diamonds from different sources.

In short, because the diamond broker works for you, you avoid typical retail mark-ups, misrepresented diamonds, and the time and frustration needed to locate and compare different diamonds in different jewelry stores.
